Stuck?! Sketches challenge from Sep 15, 2015

Since I found the Stuck sketches blog so late and the deadline for linking up the layouts is in fact today, I am sharing two posts today :D. Very unlike me, right?

Here's the second sketch, just as pretty as the first one, me thinks!

For this one, with the exception of one paper from the Barista collection from Basic Grey and two flowers (I think maybe from Prima), I only used Dear Lizzy's Documentary collection. FINALLY! So happy. This collection makes me happy.

In place of the circles I've used the Rosey Posey cut file from The Cut Shoppe - I just cut out three roses from it, one for each section. Then I added some gold messy circle stitching to them, not sure if you can tell from these photos...My photos look totally different on my cellphone than my laptop. I would really need extra lights or a photo booth...but where should I store them? ;S

Hope you like it! Any questions, you know where to find me x

Stuck?! Sketches challenge from Sep 1, 2015

I've just stumbled upon the Stuck sketches page the other day and I'm so happy I did because I in fact felt like I was stuck! Ha! And they have such gorgeous sketches, I had to find something other than my son to scrap! I wanted pink and flowers and pretty and feminine finally...Arrrgghh!

Here is the first sketch I worked with:

Isn't it just pretty?

I really wanted to use Dear Lizzy's Documentary collection for this one because I think it's the prettiest collection I have ever seen! But none of the 12x12" papers I have from the collection worked for what I had on mind and the 6x6" was not big enough. So I ended up using a mixture of this collection and some other paper scraps I've had for ages.

So here's my interpretation:

I hope you like!
Thanks for stopping by x

My Scraps & More Sketch #114 - Finders Keepers

Here I am with yet another layout for the My Scraps and More Sketch challenge!
Another very inspiring sketch. To be honest, since I don't have much time for scrapbooking now that I'm back at work full time, I'm really only participating in a challenge if I find the sketch interesting and inspiring. This one I do :).

I followed the sketch pretty closely because I simply like it the way it is! I chose mostly papers and embellies (rub-ons, enamel hearts, puffy stickers and stamps) from Amy Tan's stunning Finders Keepers collection. The green and yellow papers are from Dear Lizzy and so are those amazing thickers! I love tall thin letters!
Wouldn't be me I guess if I hadn't used a cut file :). I've been wanting to use this file from The Cut Shoppe for so long and when I saw the sketch it came to my mind right away! I did modify it by adding some extra rows and columns to have more squares. Then I backed each of them with different pattern papers. Once done, I added the photos and all the embellishments. I was planning to add 3 flair buttons and thought I'd add some tulle and some stitching behind them to make them pop more. But then I liked how the tulle and stitching looked like on their own so I skipped the buttons this time. :)

So here's my interpretation! Thanks for looking. x

My Scraps & More Sketch #113 - We are together

I love My Scraps and More sketches, they are always so inspiring! Hell, I love the  MSAM shop too - amazing prices, always 20% off, extremely friendly owner and I think it's the only online store I found in the US so far that has a free delivery option (within US). Here in Germany I am so used to free delivery I get a small shock when I fill my basket in the US and the delivery fee just gets more and more as I put more stuff in it...Here it's the opposite, more you buy, less delivery you pay.

Anyway, back to the sketch...Here it is:

Looking at it I right away knew I wanted to use the new Simple Stories We Are Family collection. Not sure why actually. Maybe only because it's such a gorgeous collection and I pretty much bought everything from it, papers, ephemeras, stickers, chipboards, wood veneers, frames, enamel dots, you name it.

I've cut different size strips of paper from my 6x6" pad, puzzled them together and added stitching for some texture. It wouldn't be me if I didn't wanna add some cut file! Ashley has some new ones over at The Cut Shoppe and she is also offering 30% off this week, using the code: FALLFINDS30. Check it out, you will not be sorry! I own so many designs and I use them all the time! I chose the I Heart Plaid cut file and cut it from white textured cardstock, I thought the white was really nice against the dark brown background. I actually wanted to use another cut file, with four different arrows (see pic below) but I couldn't make them work (one ended up on another layout though, no waste here!).

Very unlike me, I kept the embellishments to a minimum because I wanted the focus to be on the gorgeous papers and beautiful chipboard title. I've added some white distress spray and done!

Probably one of the quickest layouts I have ever done and yet one of my favourites.

Hope you enjoy it too x
