July Kit at Scrapbook Werkstatt

Hi there,

I can't believe how fast the months are going?! Here we are again with new kit projects for Scrapbook Werkstatt. Unbelievable.

The July kit is a very bright, summer kit, hence its name "Glühwürmchen" ("Firefly"). I mean look at that neon yellow card stock from Bazzill!

Here's what you get in this kit:
  • 11 sheets of 12x12" patterned papers/card stock from Pink Paislee Summer Lights, Scrapbook Werkstatt, Crate Paper Oasis and Bazzill
  • 1 pack of thickers from American Crafts
  • 1 pack of die cuts from Scrapbook Werkstatt
  • 1 flair button from Scrapbook Werkstatt
  • exclusive clear stamp set from Scrapbook Werkstatt
  • 1 paper clip from Websters Pages
  • 1 sticker sheet from Pretty Little Studio

And below are the projects I created with this kit. Hope you like! For the travellers notebook cover and inserts you can find a tutorial here.

Goodbye - DT layout for The Cut Shoppe

Hey friends,

So here I am with my last layout for The Cut Shoppe! I am so very grateful to Ashley for this wonderful year! She was the first scrapbooker whose work stood out for me and who I found very inspiring! She is the reason I bought my Cameo back then and started using cut files. Besides being so creative, she is also an amazing, down to Earth person, who has helped me grow in many many ways. I am sad there will not be a TCS DT anymore, but I am sure I will keep using Ashley's cut files!

As for my layout. I thought it would be fun to create a layout saying goodbye to The Cut Shoppe! For this I used  the Thin Line Alpha and the Open Your Heart cut files.

I'm always trying to use older collections for my TCS layouts, otherwise I never get to and it would be a shame. Here I used Paige Evans' super pretty first collection, Fancy Free, for Pink Paislee.  I love the colours, patterns and awesome embellies in this collection!

I cut both files out of white textured card stock. I backed the letters with a pink ombre paper, so the top letters are more pale. The heart cut file I backed with a citrus green ombre paper, again, the lighter colours are towards the top of the layout.

I then fussy cut some flowers and leaves from one of the 12x12 papers. I played around a little bit with placement until I found their final spot.

I used some foam adhesive to pop up the letters so they stand out more and so I can tuck the flowers behind them.

Since the layout is quite white and so is the background of my photo, I layered a few different patterned papers behind the photo. This way it didn't get completely lost.

I added a couple embellies, not many because I already had a lot going on. Just a few buttons, a wood veneer tab and a puffy sticker.

To finish it off I wrote up my journaling and stamped my date.

I hope you like my layout! Even though this is my last one for The Cut Shoppe, I promise I will be back with more cut file inspirations soon!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Fun trip - DT layout for The Cut Shoppe

Hey there scrappy friends,

Here I am with my last before one layout for The Cut Shoppe!

As I was browsing through my cut files, I realized I still haven't used the Hul-La-Ba-Zoo cut file even though I've been wanting to for ages.

While on Spring Break in April, we went on a Safari in Italy and we took many photos of all the different animals. For whatever reason I didn't take more than 2 photos of my favourite giraffes! Either way, I decided to use the giraffe cut file to go with my giraffe pictures and document this memory.

https://www.etsy.com/listing/468665995/the-hul-la-ba-zoo-cut-file-set-includes?ref=shop_home_active_41

I chose the wonderful Crate Paper Oasis collection which reminded me of Safaris, trips and getaways. Then I cut two giraffes in two different sizes (one image I mirrored so they are facing each other) then backed them with two patterned papers from the collection.

For my background I picked a wood grain paper and I used a very limited color palette, which I find matches the Safari theme. I used embellishments from the Oasis collection: die cuts, chipboard stickers, a chipboard frame and stickers as well as some wood veneers and plain chipboards from other manufacturers.

I created two clusters with tropical leaves, most of these came from the ephemera pack, some I fussy cut from a patterned paper. I also added some chipboard leaves for additional dimension.

For my title I used the gold phrase stickers from the Oasis collection. I just love the font!

I hope you like how this layout turned out! I will be honest, I promised myself earlier to never use another animal cut file on a layout (long story!) but with these pictures this file was kind of the obvious choice right?! :)

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you will check my last post for The Cut Shoppe in two weeks, which will only be posted on my blog!

Have a great day X

June Kit at Scrapbook Werkstatt

Hi All,

While we are already working on the July (and August!) kits at Scrapbook Werkstatt, I thought I'd show you my projects with the June kit.

Without a doubt this is my most favourite kit so far. It is full of life and summer, which is just what I needed after all the greyness! Pinks and tropical patterns, but also pastels are included. There is a wonderful bottle of gold acrylic paint in there too yay! Really, it's a gorgeous kit and it was so much fun to work with it! The layouts came together very quickly! It happens to me a lot that I love a kit at first sight but then I struggle with my projects for some unknown reason. This kit wasn't one of those! So here's Tausendschoen for you:
