The Spellbinders December 2018 card kit is here!

Hey there friends,

I am stopping by today to share my projects with the GORGEOUS Spellbinders December card kit! This is by far my favorite Spellbinders kit, it is FULL of goodies, there's a 6x6 patterned paper pad yay, stamp, dies, 2 amazing washi tapes, die cut pack, enamel shapes, twine, puffy alphas, tags and the usual color card stocks, metallic card stock, white card bases, envelopes, double sided adhesive, foam dots included! I hope I didn't forget anything, it's seriously jam packed. The colors are beautiful, blue and brown tones with a little bit of light pink. Perfect for winter! Let me show you what I made!

I wanted to make the most of the kit, so I made 10 cards, but there's still plenty of supplies left! All my cards A2 size. For this first one I made a template so that my rays are evenly placed. I then cut each ray from different patterned papers / card stocks and glued them down only in the middle. Once done, I ran my sewing machine over them and folded up their sides for some dimension. I punched two circles for the middle and added a die cut reindeer hat on foam dots. I also die cut some branches from the metallic paper and the sentiment from brown card stock. I glued them down and done.

For the card on the left I made some origami stars based on a video from Paige Evans. I made them once before and my hands hurt so much haha! But these papers are much thinner than the normal scrapbook paper and as such, were very easy to fold! I just glued them on, added some twine, a couple of die cut snowflakes and I stamped and embossed a sentiment.

For the card on the right I die cut a circle using the Nestabilities Hemstitch Circles dies  - I offset the inner circle a bit because I wanted to arrange my embellishments a bit offset too. I backed the blue circle with white card stock, then using foam adhesive I adhered it to my patterned paper background.  I layered a tag and a few die cut flowers and branches on top. For the branches I actually used washi tape! I just adhered the washi tape to a heavy weight white card stock, then die cut those shapes from it. I stamped "holiday" and fussy cut it out, then die cut "wishes" and built my sentiment from these two. A few enamel dots finish off this card.

Next up is a simple card. I attached a piece of patterned paper to my card base. I added a strip of patterned paper at the bottom as well as some washi tape. Isn't that washi just gorgeous?! I placed these die cut animals on top of each other (do you know the Town musicians of Bremen?!), added some die cut snowflakes, a sentiment and a die cut scarf on the polar bear :).

While the polar bear on my previous card was from the ephemera pack, the ones on my next cards are die cut using the dies included in the kit. Aren't these bears so cute?! With the scarves and all! Love! I've created my background on the left card with the Shapeabilities Cascade Dots die which I thought could look like falling snow! Or is that a stretch?! I backed it with gray patterned paper and adhered both to my card base. Everything else you see here is made with dies included in the kit! The sentiment, the polar bear, the branches and the snowflake as well! And the little trees on my other card too. For that card I added some patterned paper for background and created a forest kind of scene. Some of the little trees are metallic paper, others I made using the washi tape! The eye and nose of the bear is the dark brown washi tape while his scarf, his ear and his cheek are all die cut from the lighter washi tape included in the kit.

Phew, 4 more cards! Are you guys still here?! Hehe! To be honest I photographed card duos so I don't have so many pictures haha! OK, so the card on the left! I created my background using patterned papers and washi tape. I added a sentiment from the ephemera pack and decorated it with those itty bitty die cuts I made from washi tapes. I then used the same circle dies as mentioned before, but this time I lined them up the right way (as in not offset). I added some embroidery floss to it for some interest. I layered a snowflake and a deer die cut on top. The card on the right is super simple. I glued down a bunch of washi tape and patterned paper strips and added a pine cone die cut on top. I stamped my sentiment and wrapped a piece of twine around the card, et voila, your easiest card ever.

Last but not least I really wanted to use the mason jar stamp and that glass from the ephemera pack so I made these cards. On the left: patterned paper background, then I die cut a bigger oval shape from brown card stock, a smaller one from patterned paper, using the Nestabilities Fancy Edged Ovals die set. I use this set so often, I absolutely love it! I die cut a few little flowers and branches and adhered them to the top of that glass, which I decided to use as a vase. It might actually be a vase, I'm not sure :). I stamped and fussy cut "happy" plus die cut "winter" for my sentiment. On the right: I stamped and fussy cut the mason jar. I've used patterned paper for this. I embossed the lid on another patterned paper and fussy cut it out too. The star that I hung from the middle is also stamped and fussy cut. I decorated my background with a strip of patterned paper and a few snowflake die cuts from the ephemera pack. The sentiment and the birdie are also included in that pack!

I love creating so many projects but honestly, I don't like to do the write up on them, because I don't believe a whole lot of people read blog posts anymore. I know I don't! But OK, if just one of you is inspired by what I created, I'm glad!

If you made it through this post, congratulations! :)

I hope you like my projects with this kit as much as I loved creating them! Check out this kit, I promise you will not be sorry!

Thank you for spending time with me today!

Have a lovely day!
