You're one in a melon - DT layout for Fancy Pants Designs

Hi there,

I'm sharing a new layout today that I created for Fancy Pants Designs.
I used one of their new collections, Hello Sunshine. You can get this collection and sooo much more at Make a pretty life! Have a look, lots of cute stuff there!

So, my layout...Here it is:

I went a little overboard with patterns and colors here, even for my taste :D. As an exception I started out with a photo of my son eating the first slice of watermelon of the season at their annual class party. I was thinking this collection has all the right colors to scrap this photo. Then there was this cut file from Clique Kits from last summer that I still haven't used, with these fruit slices that remind me of melons. So cute! I cut it out of white textured card stock.

As always, I backed the cut file with different patterned papers. Mostly to bring in lots of different colors and patterns. I liked the look of the pink striped paper peeking through here and there, so this is what I used for background at the bottom. I used a black and white patterned paper at the top to calm things down a little.

Since everything was so busy already, I barely used any embellishments at all. I cut my title from black textured card stock and layered it on top of the fruit cut file.

I picked a few die cuts from the ephemera pack to place them around my photo. I used pop dots with most of them, just to create some dimension on the page. There was even a cute melon in the pack! A lot of the pieces have some gold foiling, they are sooo gorgeous. You guys absolutely need this collection!

Thanks for stopping by today! I will be back with new projects soon! X

Love - DT layout for Just Nick

Hi there friends,

I'm back with you today with a new layout for Just Nick.

You probably don't know this about me because I mostly do boy pages, but I've been in love with flowers ever since I was a little girl. They make me happy. I love to touch them, smell them and yes, even talk to them. A while ago I decided I will not deny myself the joy of using floral patterns and flowers on my layouts just because I don't scrap girls. They cheer me up. And Nicole does the prettiest floral cut files, doesn't she?!

So today again I chose a floral cut file which is quite new still. I think this is my absolute favourite one right now!

Isn't it just fabulous?!

I decided to blow it up a little and turn it around so it's at the top of my page. I picked the gorgeous Oh My Heart collection from Paige Evans. I love the purples in this collection! I chose a purple paper for my background, then backed the flowers with different patterned papers from this collection. I hand cut some leaf shapes from different purple papers, which I then layered on the cut file for a bit of extra dimension. I glued some foam adhesive under the cut file so I can tuck my picture under it.

At this point I had no idea what photo I want to use. It happens very often that I do the background and then I find a photo. Mostly one that is already printed so I don't feel like I'm wasting anything ha! But then I realized I actually have a color photo in which I'm wearing some purple floral leggings! So I went ahead and printed out that one. I think it fits perfectly.

For my title I picked the cute wood veneer word LOVE which I believe is from Ashley Horton's first collection, Oakley Avenue. I glued this on top of a circle scallop wood veneer from the Paige Evans Take Me Away collection.

Other than this I only added a suede bow, a chipboard, a puffy sticker, a few buttons and some enamel dots. Generally I add more embellishments but I felt like the page was finished at this point. I didn't even add paint splatters which I do on most of my layouts!

I hope I could inspire you in one way or another! Thank you for stopping by today!

Too old for snapchat? - DT layout for Just Nick

Hi there,

I'm back with you today to share my very first layout for Just Nick! I'm so excited to be here, thank you Nicole for the opportunity!

I picked one of the pretty flowers from the Floral and Fauna cut file set.

First I cut out a simple ring, then I cut several of the flowers, in different sizes. I backed my flowers with different papers from the gorgeous Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams collection.

I created a bigger and a smaller cluster of flowers opposite each other on the ring. I added a few different bits and pieces to the middle of them: buttons, chipboard and puffy stickers.

I printed my photo in a couple of different sizes, I wasn't sure which one to add. I didn't like the shape of the photo for this background so I added the same photo in two different sizes.

Other than the flowers I didn't add a lot of embellishments because I wanted the flowers to shine! A couple of chipboards, stickers, title (which I stitched down so it doesn't go anywhere!), date and journaling plus some black paint splatters and done!

I hope you like my project! Thanks for stopping by today. See you next time X

Summer Loving - DT layout for Fancy Pants

Hi there friends,

After a long break I'm back with a new layout for Fancy Pants Designs yay!

Have you guys seen the new collections?! I think they are fabulous! I especially love the Hello Sunshine collection, designed by the amazing Amber LaBau! I can't help it, I just love bright colors!

I used this collection on today's layout. How gorgeous are the colors and patterns in this line?! Full of summer! I picked two photos of my son playing in the sand at the beach in Barcelona.

I chose a floral cut file I had from the Silhouette Design Store and cut it in several different sizes. Some of them I mirrored so they don't all look the same. Then I backed the petals with patterned papers. I left the leaves empty because I love the airy feel to them.

I tucked a couple of leaves from the ephemera pack under the flowers, just to add some interest.

I only added a couple of embellies, mainly pieces from the die cut pack. I felt like this layout didn't need more.

For my title I also used a die cut. I just love the versatility of the ephemera pack! A quick journaling, the date and some black splatters finished off my layout.

I hope you love this collection as much as I do! It's just such a vibrant and happy one! Enjoy X
