Pinkfresh Studio October Release Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Pinkfresh Studio October Release Blog Hop!

You should have arrived here from the amazing Yoonsun's blog. I bet she's made some awesome cards!

My main focus today was the super gorgeous Hello with a Bouquet die but of course I couldn't stop there...Whenever I get new goodies to play with, I want to try them all at once! Anywho, this die was designed by the talented Bea Valint. She always creates such beautiful and feminine things!

I've made these 3 cards, some easier, some a bit more complex, or rather, time consuming.

This is the simplest of the 3. I simply die cut it from one of the patterned papers from the Indigo Hills 2 collection and adhered it to my A2 size top folding (landscape) card base. I then die cut it again from white card stock and added foam adhesive to the HELLO sentiment which I then glued on my card front. To finish it off, I splattered some ink and added a puffy sticker.

For the second one I again made an A2 size top folding (landscape) card base. I attached some patterned paper from the Indigo Hills 2 collection in the same size. I die cut the image from a purple patterned paper and white card stock and glued them together, but offset them a little. I pieced back the purple HELLO sentiment. Finally I added some enamel dots and gold paint splatters.

The most time consuming one was this last one. I won't even admit how long it took because it would be embarrassing! I die cut the image from white card stock and glued it on my card front. I then pieced back every single tiny purple/blue piece and adhered them down. Of course I could have backed the whole thing like I would a cut file, but it just doesn't look the same! Those rounded edges are to die for in my opinion!

I stamped and embossed the second part of the sentiment "You are a warrior." For this I've used WOW Metalline Plum embossing powder.

Next up, two cards using the super pretty Folklore die, designed by Inna Moreva. The first card was a total accident. I forgot to use a metal shim when die cutting (you need this for all intricate dies), so not everything cut through. I was not going to throw it away though. The parts it did cut through were just so lovely! So I took my scissors and cut out some pieces to make a shaker window and also some others to have a more symmetrical cut. I did notice in the photos that I forgot some pieces...Of well. Embrace imperfection!

Afterwards I managed to cut another one, from white card stock, this one worked perfectly. I went for a simple look. I love navy and white, the combo reminds me of some china. 

And last but not least I absolutely had to try the amazing Noteworthy Frames and Dainty Blossoms dies. The frames are so clever! There's a bunch of different shapes which you can use to cut an opening into your card front and tuck flowers in there. Or whatever else! These frames are meant to hold the sentiment. I like how these turned out:

Card inspiration - DT project for Pinkfresh Studio

Hello friends,

I'm stopping by to share a few card ideas using products from the amazing Pinkfresh Studio January release!

Wreaths are my favourite thing on any project, layout, card, DIY, you name it! So obviously I had to make a couple of cards with wreath design.

For the first two cards I used the following stamp/die sets:

• Dainty Botanicals stamp set
• Dainty Botanicals dies
• Word Series: Dream stamp set
• Tealightful Day

I picked out 4 different shades of coral ink pads and with the lightest one I stamped a floral background, leaving an oval white space in the middle of my A2 top folding card base. I then stamped some of the Dainty Botanicals in the other 3 shades of ink and die cut them. I arranged them in a wreath shape and glued them down with liquid glue. I used the darkest ink color for my sentiment which I just stamped in the middle. To finish off my card I added some Nuvo drops and a twine bow.

My second card is very similar, except I left the background white (I know, right?! I never do white! But I seem to love it on cards now!) and stamped the images in blue tones. This time I wrapped some twine around the bottom of the card to add some texture and dimension.

For my third card I used the Tealightful Day stamp set. It's such a whimsical and adorable set! I made an A2 top folding card base from kraft card stock. Then I stamped the teeny umbrellas and the sentiment in black ink and also added some rainbows. I colored my umbrellas with my new Faber Castell Polychromos pencils (I had a 36 set but my boyfriend came home with the 120 set the other week, isn't he awesome?!). I added some machine stitching, Nuvo Crystal Glaze droplets and a few white polka dots, for which I used a Gelly pen.

On my last card I used the following stamp sets:

• Word Series: Believe stamp set
• Itty Bitty Elements stamp set

I stamped my 5x5.25" background using a tiny rose image and colored it in with some Artist markers. This time I wanted a sliver of color to show around the edges of my card base, so I adhered a 4.25x5.5" piece of coral card stock to my A2 top folding card base. I then added a a piece of white too, just a little smaller than the coral one. I stamped my sentiment on a piece of white card stock and adhered it down on my card base. I cut my floral panel to the right size and glued this down too. I wanted to hide the line where the two card stocks meet, so I added a piece of decorative ribbon, and twine. Some Nuvo drops finish off my last card for today!

Pinkfresh Studio January Stamp & Die Release Blog Hop

I'm so excited for my first Pinkfresh Studio blog hop! You should have arrived here from the wonderful Julia Stainton's blog!

I love everything Pinkfresh Studio makes and the stamps and dies in this release are no different! There's so many to choose from, I'm sure you'll find something you love too!

I'll share 6 cards today because, well, I created a lot as soon as I got my DT package - I wanted to try everything right away (didn't manage)!

I hope you'll like them!

Without further ado:

All finished cards are 4.25x5.5" top folding cards. On the first one I used a couple of different sets. The background I created with a foliage stamp from the Bird with Flowers set. I just stamped the image multiple times starting at varying heights so that the background looks more random. The flowers are a part of the Fleur 1 set. I stamped a few on watercolor paper, die cut them using the coordinating die set and used some of my Distress Markers to add color. The Believe sentiment is from the Word Series: Believe stamp and die set. I stamped this with embossing ink on blue card stock and embossed it with white embossing powder.

On this second card I used a bigger flower stamp from the same Fleur 1 set. I left these black and white and die cut them using the coordinating dies. The strips I stamped using a stem stamp from the Bird with Flowers set. The sentiment is from the Word Series: Dream set; I embossed this with black embossing powder. 

One of my favorite cards must be this one, because I just love this blue! I didn't think of it at the time, but in retrospect it reminds me of the Indigo Hills collection! I used several stamps from the Fleur 1 set, I arranged them on my stamp platform and stamped them in two corners of my card. I then colored these in with my blue Distress Marker. The sentiment is from the Tealightful Day set and I used the same blue Distress Marker to color the stamp.

I wanted to stamp the same image on different color card stock and color them in with my color pencils (a mix of Prismacolor and Polychromos) to see what they look on different backgrounds. My boyfriend likes the dark background - normally he doesn't care about my work, but he actually mentioned he likes that, ha!  

So first I used a light grey ink pad to stamp a variety of flowers I arranged on my stamp platform. These flowers are all from the Fleur 2 set. I then colored these, and to add some interest I stamped a second layer of flowers on top, this time using only embossing powder.

Both sentiments are from the Bloom & Grow set.

On the last card I am sharing today I used the wonderful Bouquet of Hearts stamp set. I just love this image so much! I stamped it on watercolor paper using black ink, then colored it using watercolors. The sentiment is also from this set. At this point it was all too white for me (if you know my scrapbook layouts, you know I have a problem with white :D), so I added polka dots to the background using a black marker.
