Winter Scene cards with Concord & 9th Bundled Up

It's been a long time since I've made a blog post just for fun! I have some time now and because I've made a process video for these cards, I thought I might as well share them here too!

Anyway, I have a stack of stamp sets that I've bought but never got around to using, and sometimes I just need new inspiration! Sooo I went through this pile and I've found this super cute Concord & 9th set called Bundled Up. You can buy it as a stamp and die bundle, or just the stamp or die sets. I've used both the stamps and the dies on today's cards.

In the spotlight: Spellbinders Sparkling Christmas collection

Hey there crafty peeps,

I have this guest post up on the Spellbinders blog, featuring some of their dies from the new Sparkling Christmas collection!

It's still so weird for me to share Christmas projects in summer, but hey, Christmas cards are my favorite so I could do them all year round ha!

Without further ado, here's the first card! The dies I've used on this card are my absolute favorites from this beautiful collection! I love plaid and flowers so of course I'm a fan of these! The Kaleidoscope Plaid set consists of 3 dies that you can either layer up or use on their own. I selected 3 different papers for the plaid: gray and gold card stock, plus pink polka dot patterned paper.

I created an A2 size top folding card base, then added a dark gray card stock panel to it. I die cut the rectangles 4 times to cover most of my card front. I adhered them onto white card stock first then attached this panel to my card front. 

I then die cut the flowers using the dies from the Glimmer Poinsettia set (this set consists of 5 glimmer plates and 5 dies). I love that the dies work on their own too, no need to add foiled details if you don't want to! I assembled the 3 flowers and arranged them on my card front. I placed some red enamel dots in the middles. For my sentiment I used one of the plates from the Holiday Sentiments Series 2 set with gold foil. It actually says FA LA LA LA LA which was too long so I trimmed it down. I used foam adhesive to attach my sentiment. To finish off this card I added some twine at the top.

On my next card I used the Kaleidoscope Plaid die set again. I created my background the same way as above, I just used different papers. 

For the car I used the Sunday Drive die set, which is actually not a Christmas product but now there is the Sunday Drive with Santa add-on with which you can create fun Christmas themed cars. There is another non-holiday themed add-on set available as well, called Hitched. 

Once I assembled the car, I added foam adhesive to its back and adhered it onto my card front. Since the licence plate is already a sentiment, I didn't need anything else.

On my next card I went with a Nordic Christmas vibe - red and white color combo. Now, red is one of my least favorite colors when it comes to paper crafting (well it depends on the color combo really, but on its own I do not love red), however I like using it on Christmas projects. And the Crimson Stars glimmer foil is absolutely stunning. I wish I could take better photographs that show off all the sparkle, but I hope you can still see just how beautiful this foil is!

This is also an A2 size top folding card - I layered red card stock, red grid patterned paper and a white embossed panel on top of each other. I foiled and die cut the poinsettias (Glimmer Poinsettia set). This time I didn't layer them, I just used the three different sizes to create an arrangement in opposite corners of the card. I added red enamel dots in the middles.

I foiled a holiday sentiment with the same red foil as before and adhered it to my card with foam adhesive.

Last but not least, I created 3 mini circle cards for which I used the 3.4" size circle die from the Nestabilities Hemstitch Circles Etched Dies Romancing the Swirl Becca Feeken set. I die cut two circles from heavy weight card stock for each of my card bases. I then created a score line about 3/4 inch from the top on one of the circles (the scored one becomes the back of the card) and added glue above the score line, then attached the other circle on top. I die cut 3 patterned paper circles too, for my card fronts.

Using the Joyful Christmas Tree die set, I die cut several trees from white card stock and various patterned papers. On my first card I created a colorful tree with the inlay technique. I glued down all the scallops with foam adhesive. I punched a small hole in the card as well as in my foiled sentiment strip and attached it with a twine bow.

On my second card I used the outline pieces of the patterned paper die cuts and I backed them with white card stock. No inlaying. I added a red foiled sentiment this time.

To not waste all the patterned paper die cuts I had left, I created one more card, exactly the same way as above.

In the spotlight: Spellbinders Glimmer Backgrounds - Hand Drawn Wave Glimmer Hot Foil Plate

Hello there,

I'm stopping by real quick to share a card I've made with the beautiful Spellbinders Hand Drawn Wave Glimmer Hot Foil Plate! 

Do you guys have a Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System yet?! If not, you might want to reconsider hehe! Here in Germany, you can buy it at Alexandra Renke, as well as plenty of accessories like the foil rolls in several colors, and various plates.

Spellbinders added a few background plates to their collection recently and today I'm showing you one of them!

The plate is wide enough for you to create A2 size cards in landscape orientation but I decided to go with portrait, so after foiling my panels (2 of them), I just trimmed off the sides.

I went with some mauve kind of colored patterned papers from Alexandra Renke, because I thought they'd be beautiful with the Gold Glimmer Hot Foil roll I wanted to use.

Once I'd foiled the panels and trimmed them down to 4.25" wide, I fussy cut out the waves so I could layer them up on my card front.

I adhered a floral paper to my card base, then I added a piece of mauve colored grid paper at the bottom. I first glued down the darker foiled panel, then attached the lighter one too. For my sentiment I used the Everyday Sentiments II Glimmer Hot Foil Plates with gold foil. I love foiling lots of  sentiments at once so I always have sentiments in various colors ready to go and don't have to spend time on this when I'm working on my cards. I added foam adhesive to the sentiment and adhered it to my card.

To finish it off, I placed a few enamel dots in matching colors around my sentiment and added a twine bow at the top. That's it! Super simple, but I think the foil adds interest and texture to it, just a little something something!

Believe me, once you try the Glimmer Hot Foil System, you'll want to foil things in EVERY possible color haha! Oh oh! I almost forgot! There's a new foil too! And it's rainbow oh my goodness! Have you seen it?! You can find it HERE. It sells out fast each time, so don't think about it twice! I did try this foil with the same background and it looks fabulous - I just didn't have time to finish the card yet. I also foiled sentiments with it, even my boyfriend said they were super cool (and he couldn't care less about crafty things haha!).

Pinkfresh Studio Essentials 3 Release Blog Hop

Welcome to the Essentials 3 Release blog hop, full of amazing products and gorgeous inspiration! My most favorite card making supplies are standalone dies, so I'm pretty excited about this release! I wish I had had more time to try each one of them, but I'm sure you guys know how busy the end of the year gets!

I decided to create a mini Christmas banner with the smaller die from the Ornate Banner die set. I'm thinking, I should make a mini box for it and then it will be a cute present for a friend!

I die cut the banners from Home for the Holidays papers - here I used the little teardrop shaped die at the bottom too. I also die cut the banners from heavy weight white card stock that I layered behind each patterned paper banner so they are nice and sturdy. 

This striped background I had left from a previous project, I thought I might as well use it! I had enough for 2 banners!

I die cut each letter from the same patterned papers, using my favorite Kelly Alpha Upper Case dies. I glued them on heavy weight card stock, inlaid the little fall out pieces too, then fussy cut the letters out - again, nice and sturdy. I like my projects to stand the test of time! 

So that my letters stand out from the background, I added a white square to each banner. To create these, I used two new die sets: Diagonal Stitched Squares and Stitched Squares. These are really great basic shapes that I'm sure I'll use a lot!

I then added bits and pieces from the Home for the Holidays scrapbook collection to each banner, puffy stickers, stickers, wood buttons, layered stickers and enamel dots.

Last but not least, I added some gold eyelets to each banner and threaded pink ribbon through them. 

While I was at it, I made a second banner for my table decor piece! This time I die cut the banner from blush card stock. I did add a second layer of white heavy weight card stock behind it. I also die cut the tear drop shapes from white card stock and glued them in place.

For the letters I used citrine card stock and this time I left the patterns open, so the white backing could peak through. I adhered the letters in the middle of the banners.

To add something a little different, I used one of the dies from the Teardrop Tag with Fillable Elements die set to create a white ornate border at the top of my banner.

I then punched two holes in each banner and added some eyelets. I'm not sure what color these are, some kind of metallic brown or so. Works well with the color of the pine cones in the glass!

I used the same pink ribbon as before, and secured the banner on the glass with a bow.

This is what's inside! The brush trees have such a pretty color and shape and they are on concrete stands which I find super cool. 

There you have it! I rarely do home decor because we just have no space, but I loved working on something different for a change! Hope you like these projects too :).

Pinkfresh Studio January Release Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Pinkfresh Studio January 2019 Release Blog Hop!

You should have arrived here from the amazing Yoonsun's blog. I'm sure she's shared some gorgeous inspirations with you!

Today I'm sharing quite a few cards, so hang in there :D. This probably happened because we were on holiday and for like 11 days I could not craft at all, so when we got home and my package was there, I couldn't stop creating! That and the fact that this release is jam packed with gorgeous products!

First up is the wonderful Heart and Soul stamp and coordinating die set. I'm not much of a colorer but I had to give it a try!

All my cards are mounted on A2 size (4.25x5.5") top folding card bases (portrait or landscape format). Here I added a piece of teal card stock on top, on which I white embossed the title. I probably shouldn't have done this because the letters are tiny and the embossing didn't work out so well. Especially because I used textured card stock. Just so you know what it says: "So fill your heart with what's important and be done with all the rest." In person it's easier to read!

I then stamped the image in gray ink and colored in everything I could. I die cut the image using the coordinating die. I added some foam adhesive to the back and pressed it down on the metallic teal thread I placed in that corner. To finish this off I drew white faux stitches and added a few gems.

I created two more cards with the same stamp and die set. This time I did not want to color, instead I took some aqua striped vellum, matching embossing powder and embossed the image on the vellum. I die cut them and then decided to die cut the shapes from white card stock too because I didn't like the different colors peaking through the vellum.

I added a few strips of color card stock to each card base, then stamped the sentiments in navy. I popped up the die cuts and used some tangled thread and some twine to add a bit of texture and interest. Last but not least a few gems were placed here and there.

Next up is one of my favorites from this release: the Embroidered Blossoms stamps and coordinating dies. On the back of the packaging of each set you'll always find a couple of examples what you can use the products for. Just to give you an idea if you don't know where to start. Which is what I did this time because the 3 samples are the most gorgeous arrangements and the color combos are fabulous! I picked one and started stamping the images just like on the sample.

But then I couldn't stop there and kept adding more blooms towards the top. Gosh isn't this color combo just fab?! I never would have come up with it on my own!

I glued a couple of strips of cornflower colored card stock at the bottom. I white embossed my sentiment on one of them. This sentiment is from the Scripted Bold Sentiments 2 stamp set. Some twine and Nuvo drops finish off this card.

For my next card I used the Oval Foliage die to create my focal point. Isn't this die so clever?! Using the coordinating Oval Foliage stamp set I stamped a pink oval and a light blue sentiment. I then realized I simply can't handle that much white surface hehe, so I stamped blooms in the same color combo as above, using the same Embroidered Blossoms stamps. I cut this panel slightly smaller than A2 so I could back it with an A2 size colored card stock. I also tuck a piece of pink card stock between the layers, for which I used a border punch.

I made another card with the Embroidered Blossoms stamps and coordinating dies. Here I stamped a bunch of blossoms in pinks, purples and yellows, a few leaves in black and some more leaves I embossed in chartreuse color. I die cut everything and created two flower clusters in opposite corners. Before gluing them down, I used a corner chomper in the bottom right corner. I generally prefer straight corners but I thought I'd try something different. I didn't dare to chomp off the bottom left corner as well because I don't think I would have liked that look. I like this asymmetrical look though. 

I glued down the flowers and leaves, stamped my sentiment (from the Heart and Soul stamp set) and added some black ink splatters. Done!

Next up is another favorite that took me by surprise, the Adore Alpha stamp and coordinating die set! I do love alpha stamps and dies in general but when I first saw this one, I didn't notice the teeny tiny detail stamps that make all the difference! Check out this awesomeness:

With the dies you get 2 for 1 cuts, because it cuts the letter AND a thin outline so you can make two cards right away. Which was my plan too but then I decided to add back the outlines (card on the left); so I just die cut Valentine two times from white card stock. On my first card I used the stamp set too, to add color to the letters. Then I white embossed those little decorative elements. Isn't that super cute? I'm so in love! I glued an A2 size piece of patterned paper (Simple & Sweet collection) on the card base and layered a pink heart on it. I popped up the letters using foam adhesive. I stamped my sentiment in black, on white card stock (this sentiment is from the Word Series: Happy stamp set from last year). 

For my second card I backed the white outlines with different colored card stock. I glued them down on the card base, stamped my sentiment (from the Word Series: Dream stamp set from last year), added some twine and black ink splatters. Done!

On my next card I didn't use the outline. I stamped and die cut the letters, then embossed the little florals on them. I layered some colored card stock and patterned paper on the card base, with foam adhesive between two layers. I also popped up the letters. I added some twine and stamped my sentiment, It's your day, from the Scripted Bold Sentiments 1 set.  

Almost there guys, almost there! :) On my last 3 cards I used the super sweet Make a Wish stamp set and coordinating dies. Each design is similar, with different color combos.

First one here will be for my little niece if I don't forget I have this card by August haha! I stamped and die cut loads of flowers and leaves in a few different colors. As well as cakes, cakes stands, the whole nine yard! I glued a purple heart on my card front and added the little images. For some of the flowers I used foam dots but mostly I just adhered everything down using liquid glue.

I stamped a sentiment in purple and created a lilac ribbon bow at the bottom. A few purple enamel dots and you're good to go!

Next card is pretty much the same, except I used a scrap piece of patterned paper (Simple & Sweet collection) and I put everything off center. Here I added a third cluster of flowers too.

These two cards will be for my best friend's twins in May, again, if I don't forget! :D

Next is a boy card, yay! Well, I'm not very sure about the flowers but hey, boys could love them too right? Same concept as before, except here I'm using a rectangle instead of a heart.
