One stamp three ways - DT project for Pinkfresh Studio

Hello there friends,

I'm stopping by today to share my latest projects for the Pinkfresh Studio Card Design Team.

I thought for today's post I'd make some cards using the same stamp set in different ways. Of course you could use this stamp in so many more ways too, but I hope these three will give you some ideas to get started!

I chose the gorgeous Hanging Florals stamp and die sets. I'm guessing most people would color this beautiful image, but since I don't LOVE coloring all that much (other than flat coloring), I tried to look at this set differently. Having said that, I did color on 2 of these cards haha :).

OK, so first up, a favorite technique of mine for sets with no fill in stamps is paper piecing. For this I simply stamped the image or parts of the image, on different patterned papers and fussy cut them.

I also stamped the full image on white card stock and glued the fussy cut pieces on top. I then worked on my card base: I cut a 4.25x5.5" piece of patterned paper (Joyful Day collection) as well as some heavy weight card stock in the same size. I glued the patterned paper on the heavy weight card stock - I did this because I wanted to turn this card into a shaker and I like my cards to be sturdy. I attached the floral wreath on top. I then fussy cut out the middle for a window.

I adhered some acetate to the back of this panel, then added two layers of foam tape too. I stamped my sentiment in the middle and placed some sequins on top, then attached the card front to an A2 size top folding card base. Instead of stamping the cute bow image from this stamp set for the top of my wreath, I die cut a bow using the Partial Cut Bouquet and Bow die set. I'm so in love with this bow, it's the perfect size and shape! To finish off this card I added a few white Nuvo drops.

Next, I decided to color the wreath with alcohol markers. Just some quick and simple coloring really. Once done, I die cut the image using the coordinating die. I dry embossed the middle piece to add some texture and trimmed off the top. I glued these two pieces onto a heavy weight card stock for stability and fussy cut around them.

I then die cut a panel using the gorgeous Fancy Floral 1 cover die. I glued this onto the card base. Lately I'm obsessed with white on white...I love the subtle texture this creates in the background. I adhered the wreath to the top of the card, using foam adhesive. I splattered some gold ink all over the card.

To finish it off, I tied a twine bow at the top, added a bunch of white Nuvo drops and my embossed sentiment. This sentiment is from the awesome Abstract Builder stamp set which I'm yet to use!

For my third card I decided to go completely colorless :). I don't often do one layer cards but they are growing on me! I just need at least a little dimension!

I stamped and embossed a part of the wreath twice on my gray card base. I also embossed the sentiment in the middle. This sentiment is from the You've Got This stamp set. The bold font embosses well!

I then colored in the images with white and various gray Polychromos pencils. Once done, I adhered this panel to an A2 size top folding card base.

Last but not least I splattered white ink all over my card front and as before, added white Nuvo drops and a twine bow.

That's it! Which one do you like most? I think the white one is my favorite! Anyway, I hope I could inspire you in one way or another!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Have a wonderful day!

Altenew December 2018 Artist Markers Set E + Scrapbook Embellishments Release Blog Hop

Hello crafty friends,

I'm super excited to join the Altenew December 2018 Artist Markers Set E + Scrapbook Embellishments Release blog hop! You should have arrived here from the Altenew Scrapbook Blog!

When I saw the products in this release for the first time I wanted to do a happy dance, because you guys, ENAMEL DOTS!!! They are my all time favorite embellishments and I especially love the ones where you have one color in different shades in a pack! And that's exactly what Altenew did here. They are even matching their ink colors! I die.

So most of all, I wanted to create something colorful! I also wanted to use the new Artist Markers Primary Colors set because it's so fun and full of color and life!

I went with some of my favorite stamp sets: Leaf Canopy and Ditsy Prints. Both are perfect for some simple, flat coloring as they are small images. First I created two A2 size top folding card bases. I then started stamping onto an A2 size white card stock panel. I used black ink to stamp my main images and light gray ink to stamp some of the solid images in the background. I stamped my sentiment in black too. I then quickly colored in the leaves. I decided to add some pencil details to them too. To embellish my card I used a few enamel dots in different colors.

On my second card I did pretty much the same thing, but here I used a few shades of gray ink for the background pattern, since this is a layering stamp set. For my focal image I used black ink, the Artist Markers and some color pencils. This time I white embossed my sentiment on a wide strip of black card stock. Notice that I totally messed up the stamping at the bottom, but by then most of the card was already ready and I didn't want to waste it...This wide sentiment covers up some of it and distracts from my mistake. That's what I'm telling myself anyway hehe! A bunch of beautiful enamel dots finish off this card too.

On my third card I used another scrapbook embellishment, namely a wood veneer word. I embossed LOVE with the gorgeous Razzleberry crisp embossing powder; I added two layers for a better coverage.

I cut a piece of patterned paper (from the Reflection kit), slightly smaller than my A2 size card base. Using the Leaf Canopy stamp set, I embossed this patterned paper with the same Razzleberry crisp embossing powder. I love the monochromatic look! I wrapped some mauve/gold twine around this panel and using foam sheets, I mounted it on my card base. I glued down the wood veneer and added some light pink enamel dots, done!

And now...Giveaways, yay! Read on to find out how you can win! Good Luck!

You should have arrived here from Ilda's blog. If not, I'll attach the full blog hop list at the end of this post.

Here are my cards I've created for today's blog hop! I've used the Poinsettia Trimmings stamp set from Studio Katia, Opaque Bright White and Metallic Gold Rich Pale embossing powders from WOW!

I embossed the poinsettias in white, two on white card stock, two on an aqua striped vellum. I fussy cut the vellum ones and one of the card stock one, and partially fussy cut the fourth. I created two A2 size top folding card bases (landscape). I glued an A2 size white and an aqua card stock on them. I colored the card stock poinsettias with Altenew artist markers - I just did some simple coloring, I didn't feel the need to create a very detailed look here.

I glued down the two vellum pieces on my aqua card front and added the card stock piece in the middle using foam adhesive. I embossed a sentiment in gold and popped it up in the middle. To finish off this card, I scattered some Gold Crystals from Studio Katia here and there.

I embossed a sentiment in gold on a piece of aqua striped vellum and glued this to my white card front. Notice that the vellum is smaller than A2, maybe about 5.5x3" and I only added glue at the top which I hid under the poinsettias. I again used foam tape for the poinsettias, and adhered them down at the top (but not all the way up). I used some gold crystals on this card too.

Now the fun part! Prizes yay!

You can win TWO $25 CAD Gift Certificates to the Studio Katia store and 6 WOW! Embossing Powder powders of your choice along with a WOW carry case to store your powders safely in.

Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Cards Blog Hop - Day 1

Hello crafty friends,

Welcome to the first day of the Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Cards Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from the super talented Wanda's blog! I always love seeing her beautiful projects and amazing photos on Instagram!

For today's projects I wanted to use some older stamp sets from Pinkfresh Studio, that I haven't had a chance to work with yet! I don't know about you, but I hate leaving stamps and dies untouched, I need to try them all at least once! I wish I had time to use them more often too! The reason I haven't used these particular sets before is because I am not so into coloring, I simply have no patience for it. Which is weird because I really loved coloring as a kid! Oh well, I guess we all change!

Back to the cards! On my first one I've used the adorable Festive Llama stamp set. There are also coordinating dies available but I fussy cut this one out because I was too lazy to take out my die cutting machine. Oh God, I feel a pattern emerging here (ie. I'm just lazy in general?!). I picked a pattern paper from the Holiday Vibes collection and matched my color scheme to it. Luckily I had some alcohol markers in matching colors, because I only have like 30 markers...I stamped the images in black ink and did very basic coloring, I didn't think it needed more.

I made an A2 size top folding card base and adhered the patterned paper on top. I then die cut a basic oval shape from another patterned paper from the same collection and using foam tape, I adhered it down in the middle of the panel.

I also added foam dots to my llama and presents and attached them to the oval shape. Last but not least I added a sentiment which is a sticker from last year's Christmas collection, December Days. Gosh, I loved that collection too!

On my second card I've used another super cute set, Simple Joy! There's coordinating dies available for this set too, but again, as before, I was too lazy...:( Same as before, I created an A2 size top folding card base. Then I fussy cut a part of a patterned paper (with the lights) from the 6x6 pad in the Holiday Vibes collection and using foam adhesive I added it to the top part of my card. I also added a strip of green gingham paper at the bottom.

I'll be honest, I accidentally colored the chair red and then there was no way for me to color Santa's pullover red too haha! In the end, I actually prefer the green, it's something different! I glued down Santa in the middle and added the kitty on foam dots. I tucked a puffy sticker present behind him.

I love the mittens in the Holiday Vibes collection and thought they looked cute hanging from behind the lights, so I added them there! My sentiment I've cut out from the Very Merry patterned paper.

That's it! I hope you like how these two cards turned out and I could inspire you in some small way!

I've been making Christmas cards since July and I'm still not tired of them haha! I wouldn't mind making them all year round!

Now for the fun part! Giveaways and promotions!

- Each day 6 random comments will be picked to win a $25 gift card to the Pinkfresh Studio store. There will also be 2 grand prizes picked from the comments left on the Pinkfresh Studio blog posts: each day a different bundle of holiday stamps and dies. Prizes will be pictured each day on the Pinkfresh Studio blog. That is 12 chances to win over the two days plus the grand prizes! Winners will be posted on Sunday, November 11 by 2pm CST on the Pinkfresh Studio GIVEAWAY PAGE. You must check that page and claim your prize within 2 weeks!

- The exclusive Holiday Vibes die will be added to any purchase in the Pinkfresh Studio store, free of charge! No promo code needed, it will automatically be added to your shopping cart. How cool is that? Even I don't have this die, boohoo!

Phew, that's a whole lot of information! But I hope you've enjoyed this post anyway :).

As always, I'm the last one in the hop hehe, so from here you go back to the Pinkfresh Studio blog!  I'm also attaching the full blog hop list at the end of this post, for your convenience. Have fun hopping!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
