Floral cards - DT project for Pinkfresh Studio

Hello there Pinkfresh fans,

I'm back today with some new card inspirations! This time I focused on flowers and using stamps I haven't used before (well, mostly!). 

On today's cards I've used the new Pinkfresh Premium Dye ink pads as watercolor. To do this, I simply stamped some color on my acrylic stamping block and added some water.

I started with the Flower Garden stamp set: I embossed the image with rose gold embossing powder. I then colored in the images using the following colors:

• Key Lime
• Grassy Knoll
• Storm
• Candy Violet
• Regal Kiss
• Coral Reef
• Passion Fruit
• Sweet Mustard
• Marigold

Once the flowers were dry, I loosely painted the background too, using the same green colors as above. I stamped and embossed a sentiment from the Delicate Wreath stamp set on white card stock. I trimmed it down and popped it up on my card. To finish this off, I added some copper twine at the top.

For my next card I created a striped background. I used washi tape to mask off the areas I didn't want  to paint, one stripe at a time. I added water first, then dropped in some color. Once it was dry, I stamped and embossed the wreath from the Delicate Wreath stamp set in rose gold. 

I didn't like the look without any white space in between the stripes plus I don't like when there's just no dimension to my cards. So I decided to try another design before throwing this panel away. I cut some white strips of papers and glued them down in between the colors, to separate them. I didn't mind that this came on top of the embossed wreath because I was going to add a die cut wreath on top anyway. So I embossed another wreath, die cut it, then using 3d adhesive I glued it down on top of the other one, but taking care that it was turned in a different direction, so the bottom wreath could still peek through. Finally, I added an embossed sentiment, some copper twine and a little clothespin (because it was on my desk and I was too lazy to put it back into its box haha!). 

For my third card I stamped a colorful floral pattern using the Lovely Blossoms stamp set and the same ink pads as before. Beside die cutting patterned papers, this is my most favorite thing to do: creating my own patterns with my own color combos. It's so fun!

I didn't want to cover up the stamped background so I kept the rest of the card simple. I die cut two labels with the Essentials Basic Label Frames dies. I layered them up, then added two bronze(ish) eyelets and threaded copper twine through them. I glued down the ends of the twine on the back of this panel. I adhered the whole panel to an A2 top folding card base. 

I painted a piece of paper with Coral Reef, Passion Fruit and Regal Kiss colors and die cut XO from it. Just so I have watercolor on all three cards hehe! I embossed another piece of paper with rose gold embossing powder and die cut the same letters again - I then mixed and matched the two, so that the fill is the watercolor paper, the outline is the embossed one. Last but not least I added a ribbon bow.

Focus on Eucalyptus Fantasy - DT projects for Pinkfresh Studio

I'm stopping by today to share a bunch of new cards I've made for Pinkfresh Studio.

Remember, recently we had a new release with washi tapes, stamps and dies. I didn't have much time to work with all the products then and I really wanted to, so for today's projects I've picked the Eucalyptus Fantasy sets (mostly). There are 3 products that work together:

• Eucalyptus Fantasy stamp set
• Eucalyptus Fantasy die set
• Eucalyptus Fantasy washi tape

Here's what I made:

To show you how all these products work together, I decided to do a bit of embossing. I used WOW! Embossing Powder Gold Rich Pale (WC01) embossing powder because this is the same pale gold as the Matte Gold washi tape, which I also used here.

I added some washi tape to white card stock, then die cut a wreath, two borders and a few smaller pieces with the Eucalyptus Fantasy die set. Using the Eucalyptus Fantasy stamp set and embossing powder, I gold heat embossed all these.

I then decided on what color scheme I wanted to go with. To be honest I didn't see a whole lot of options thanks to the green ha! So I just used some gray card stock and patterned papers (Indigo Hills 2 collection). 

To the below card base I added a few Matte Gold Washi Tape strips which I then stitched over with my sewing machine so that they surely stay in place. I embossed my sentiment in the middle, then popped the wreath on foam adhesive, tucked some gold metallic thread behind it and glued it all down in the middle. 

For my last card I fussy cut this hexagon shape - I cut out the middle of it too, only leaving me with a thin frame. I stamped and embossed a sentiment on vellum. I glued the frame on the vellum piece plus placed some gray patterned paper behind it as well, then stitched around it. I added foam tape behind this piece and attached it to my card base. The card base has a gray card stock panel plus a patterned paper piece that I cut smaller using the Simple Edgers die set! There's two leaf clusters in opposite corners on this design - I added some additional leaves for more dimension. To finish off these cards I splattered gold ink here and there and added see-through crystals which remind me of water droplets. I just wish they were smaller!

On my next set I used the Eucalyptus Fantasy stamp set differently because I need color! 

For my card on the left I stamped the wreath in black ink, then colored the leaves with alcohol markers. Simple flat coloring, nothing fancy! I added two strips of Rainbow with Splatters washi tape on the sides of my card front. Some paint splatters, twine and jewels (Essentials Jewels Mix) finish off this card.

For my card on the right I die cut two floral borders using the Rainbow with Splatters washi tape and the recently released Lacy Floral Border die set. I stamped my sentiment in the middle and glued down both borders. For final touches I added black paint splatters, some twine and crystals.

Last but not least I white heat embossed the wreath on watercolor paper, die cut it, and watercolored the leaves. I had these colors on my desk because I used them on another project and loved them so much, I thought I'd color one of these images too. 

Gray card base, a wide strip of navy card stock to which I added my sentiment, two slim white strips, white splatters, twine and the card is done!

Here are my cards I've created for today's blog hop! I've used the Poinsettia Trimmings stamp set from Studio Katia, Opaque Bright White and Metallic Gold Rich Pale embossing powders from WOW!

I embossed the poinsettias in white, two on white card stock, two on an aqua striped vellum. I fussy cut the vellum ones and one of the card stock one, and partially fussy cut the fourth. I created two A2 size top folding card bases (landscape). I glued an A2 size white and an aqua card stock on them. I colored the card stock poinsettias with Altenew artist markers - I just did some simple coloring, I didn't feel the need to create a very detailed look here.

I glued down the two vellum pieces on my aqua card front and added the card stock piece in the middle using foam adhesive. I embossed a sentiment in gold and popped it up in the middle. To finish off this card, I scattered some Gold Crystals from Studio Katia here and there.

I embossed a sentiment in gold on a piece of aqua striped vellum and glued this to my white card front. Notice that the vellum is smaller than A2, maybe about 5.5x3" and I only added glue at the top which I hid under the poinsettias. I again used foam tape for the poinsettias, and adhered them down at the top (but not all the way up). I used some gold crystals on this card too.

Now the fun part! Prizes yay!

Colorful watercolor cards for Pinkfresh Studio

Hello lovelies,

I am back today with some more card inspiration, this time for Pinkfresh Studio. I didn't make these cards at the same time (more like over a month time), but I pulled them together for one blog post because they are pretty similar. 

I love colors. Colors make me happy. I made the Adventure Awaits card first and because I loved these bright colors, I just kept on using them on the other 3 cards too! For all these cards I used a 4.25x5.5" watercolor panel that I then mounted on a same sized card base.

For my first card I picked the super-duper adorable Enjoy the Journey stamp and die sets designed by Irene Chan. I love her designs! The little girl and bunny in the cup image is too cute! However on today's card I decided to only use the balloons from this set. 

I started stamping them - some I masked to give it some dimension. For the same reason I also die cut a couple. Then I masked all balloons and created clouds in the background. I was so glad I still remembered from my baking phase how to achieve this effect ha!

I then colored in my balloons using a mix of distress markers and Prima and Kuretake watercolors. I stamped the sentiment on one of the balloons, popped up a couple with foam adhesive, added a bow and done!

Next up is the cute Birds and Bows stamp set, designed by Matthew Wilson. Gosh, I'll say this a lot, but so adorable! I'm in love with everything in the January stamp and die release!

I stamped the tree branches and the birds first with black ink, then I started working on the little images that I then fussy cut out. I stamped a lot more than what I eventually ended up using, but I wanted to have some different options to try.

I colored in the birds with watercolors. Then I stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink and embossed it with white embossing powder. The Celebrate sentiment comes from the Sweet Treats set. I added a light blue watercolor wash to the background so the sentiment stands out. 

I started adding the little bows and circles, some with pop dots to create some dimension. I also stamped a couple of poms or whatever those are :).

For my next card I combined images from two stamp sets, Tealightful day and Bird with Flowers, both designed by Lizzie M. I stamped the teacup first then masked it and stamped all the flowers and birds.

Then I stamped my sentiment with Versamark ink and embossed it with white embossing powder.

I colored the images using watercolors and added some white highlights to them. Last but not least I added a light blue watercolor wash to my background. 

On my last card I used the Fleur 1 stamp set. I stamped the image twice, without any masking, and added a couple of smaller images in the white spaces.

I used watercolors again to color the flowers. As before, I white embossed the sentiment and added a light blue wash of color to the background.

Poppy Cards for Spellbinders

Hey there friends,

When the lovely and super talented Yana Smakula contacted me and asked if I want to play with some Spellbinders goodies, I was kinda jumping around with joy. I mean, really?! Me?! Sure I've been playing around with some stamps and dies in the last couple of months but really, I'm no card maker. I do love a challenge though, and trying new things, so obviously I said yes! Whoop whoop!

I received the two sets of dies: the Shapeabilities Poppies Etched Dies and the Die D-Lites Corner Poppies Etched Dies. First of all, the quality is amazing! Then, is it only me that gets giddy when things are pretty?! As in, these dies are not like the other dies I have. They are this copper kind of colour! Sooo pretty! The little things eh?! :)

Also, this magnet is awesome!!! I always had my dies all over my desk, it's a miracle I haven't lost any yet! Now they are all on my new toy, the Main Attraction magnet from Spellbinders! It's such a pretty mint colour too! Me and my colours right?!

Here are the cards I've made using these gorgeous products!

I've used the Shapeabilities Poppies Etched Dies to cut the big flower 3 times, plus a few extra blooms. I painted them all with some vibrant watercolours (Prima Confections Tropicals set and Kuretake Gansai Tambi). To achieve this look, I added several layers of watercolour. I then created a 4.5x4.5" card base from textured white card stock. For the panel I used some patterned paper and cut it to 4.25x4.25". I cut a circle in the middle, and before adhering this onto my card base, I tucked the flowers behind it and glued them down with some liquid glue. I love how the paper gets curved from the watercolour - I do no flatten it. I just love all the dimension and texture this gives to my project! I added some pop dots behind some of my flowers for extra stability. I sent this card to someone that is fighting a horrible battle right now, I hope it puts a smile on her face...

Next up is another card with the same die set:

Here I kept things simple and only used the big flower from the set. I painted this in traditional poppy colours using Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours. I created a 4.24x5.5" card base from white card stock, then added a black panel to it. I cut a shorter piece of patterned paper, I glued my poppy on it  and wrapped some twine around it. I then added foam adhesive behind it and attached it to the black panel. To finish off my card, I added a sentiment that I embossed with black embossing powder and scattered some black Nuvo drops around my flower.

For my third and final card I've combined the two die sets. 

My card base is 4.25x5.5" again, covered with a striped patterned paper. I cut two corners with my die and embossed these with gold embossing powder. I also cut some flowers using the other die set and coloured these with my Polychromos pencils. I love the vibrant colours you can achieve with these pencils! I arranged the corner pieces in two corners on my card base and glued them down. I adhered some of the flowers directly onto these pieces, some others I popped up with 3d foam adhesive. Last but not least I added a black embossed sentiment and some black paint splatters.

The weather hasn't been good for weeks so my photos are rather bad, but I hope you can still see these projects well enough!

I've really enjoyed working with these products and can only recommend them to you!
