Twin layouts - DT project for Paige Evans

Hey there friends,

I'm back today with two new layouts for the Paige Evans Design Team. Two layouts that are pretty much the same but they will go in different albums so I don't mind.

I wanted to do some layered hearts again, but this time with some stitched hearts in the background. I could not decide on the color scheme...First I sketched the hearts on a pink background, then I changed my mind and thought I'd go green monochromatic. So I sketched the design on a green paper. But then I changed my mind agin, thinking I wanted something colorful, so I sketched the design on a yellow paper too. That's 3 papers already and I still wasn't sure haha! So I decided to go for two, the green monochromatic and the colorful one, I wasn't going to waste 3 good papers!

Here are my two pages:

As I mentioned, I started out by sketching the background design on the patterned papers - I used my Silhouette Cameo and sketch pens for this. I then selected a few different embroidery flosses and hand stitched the background. Nothing fancy, so this was actually not a lengthy process.

I then cut a bunch of hearts in various sizes from different patterned papers. I slightly glued the layers together, just so they don't move while I run my sewing machine over them.

I arranged them on my background and once I liked the placing, I glued them down. I went through all embellies and pulled out the ones I thought would work: die cut flowers, chipboards, puffy stickers, cardstock stickers, and my most favorite: rub-ons. I love the colorful rub-ons in Paige's collections, they are always such a great finishing touch to any page. They are great quality too!

I scattered the chosen embellishments around my pages; some I tucked behind the hearts, others I popped up - all just to add some dimension and interest to my layouts.

To finish them off, I wrote my journaling, stamped my date and added some black ink splatters. Et voila! Done!

I hope you liked today's inspirations!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!

Altenew February 2019 Stamp/Die/Stencil Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello there crafty friends,

The wonderful Altenew February release is here! You should have arrived here from the amazing Lydia Evans' blog! I can't wait to see what beauties she created for today's post!

I'm going to keep this post short, because I've made quite a few projects again, so there's lots of photos! I hope you guys don't mind... If you have any questions on how I made something, please don't hesitate to ask!

I didn't think I'd make my favorite cards with the smallest stamp set in this release! The Vintage Roses Add-On stamp set, as its name suggests, works with the Vintage Roses stamp set. I think it totally works on it own too, what do you think?

I also used the Mega Alphabet B die on this card.

Mini Thank You note cards using the same colors and design:

Next up, two cards with the Beautiful Peony stamp and die sets (also available as a bundle). The striped and grid backgrounds I've created with the Pinstripe stamp set.

Tulips have been one of my favorite flowers since my childhood! My sweet late grandma had many in her garden and she would bring me a big bouquet for my birthday each year. My birthday is beginning of May, back then we still had tulips that time. Now they are gone in April. Global warming I guess :(. Long story short, I obviously had to have the Exotic Tulips stamp and die sets (also available as a bundle)! For the sentiment on the first card I used the Better Together stamp set.

Last but not least I have a card with the Dotted Blooms stamp and die sets (available as a bundle too).

I hope you've found something here today that inspires you!

And now the fun part...Giveaways, yay! Read on to find out how you can win! Good Luck!

  1. Of course I'm inspired. Your work is beautiful--so many beautiful cards. I love those thank you cards. What a great idea! Your tulips are beautiful, too. I remember my grandma's tulips also. They were always planted in perfect straight rows and looked like beautiful, colorful soldiers. Sigh..hurry spring!

Everyday Musings layout inspirations for Pinkfresh Studio

Hello crafty friends,

I'm stopping by today to share my first layouts with the gorgeous, brand new Everyday Musings collection! This collection should be arriving to your favorite stores any minute now, so be sure to check it out! I've said this many times before, but Pinkfresh Studio collections are always so much more pretty in person than online! The quality of the papers is incredible, I love thick patterned papers!

Some of you might have already seen these layouts if you were at Creative World in Frankfurt this past weekend. I've made two layouts with each new collection, I honestly can't pick a favorite from the 3, they are all awesome. And by that I mean the new collections obviously ha!

I decided to go with layered hearts on my first layout because I wanted to use many different patterned papers but had no time for die cutting (and backing the die cut with patterned papers). This time however, I layered each heart the same way. Normally I mix the papers so different colors and patterns are on top, but going with the same design saved me a lot of time.

Once all my hearts were die cut (of course you can totally cut these out with scissors), I layered them up and stitched through the middle.

For background I chose a white paper with colorful dots and sentiments - this design might look familiar to you, it was there in the Holiday Vibes collection too, but of course in a different color combo and with different sentiments.

I then arranged my photo and the hearts roughly and decided to add one of the cute pockets off to the right. I was planning to write some journaling on a tag and put it in this pocket but then I changed my mind and put my title there. This is a die cut from the ephemera pack and I used some pop dots to add dimension to it.

I went through the ephemera pack and pulled out all floral die cuts. I tucked these under the bigger hearts before adhering all of them down. I also added a few different hearts, puffy stickers and layered stickers. Aren't those so cute?! A couple of puffy sentiment stickers and a label with date finish off this layout.

I wanted to keep all layouts simple and quick for lack of time so on my next one I went with the awesome chipboard frames from the collection. There's a whole pack of them, various colors and sizes, so cool!

For my background I chose one of my favorite papers from this collection, it's pink (technically maybe a light mauve?) with geometric pattern. It's very pretty in person! I then selected a bunch of frames and decided to back them with patterned papers so that more of the collection is represented. I also used some tags and die cuts to back a few frames.

I adhered a frame on top of our photo as well, it says Together on it, so I thought that was a great fit. I then arranged the frames and glued them down. I decorated them with bits of die cuts, puffy stickers, layered heart stickers ad sentiment stickers.

Look at these stunning puffy alpha stickers! These are probably my most favorite Pinkfresh Studio alpha stickers of all time! I wanted to make a colorful title, but all letters I needed were pretty much the same color. To avoid this, I mixed upper and lower case letters! I added my journaling, date and done!

I hope you are as excited about this collection as I am because it truly is gorgeous and so unique! Well, that's Pinkfresh Studio for you!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Have a lovely day!

Altenew January 2019 Stamp/Die/Stencil Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello there crafty friends,

The wonderful Altenew January release is here! You should have arrived here from the lovely Heather's blog!

For lack of time, I'm going to keep this post short, because I've made quite a few projects. If you have any questions on how I made something, please don't hesitate to ask!

Alright, first up is the wonderful Radial Heart die. I die cut this from white card stock as well as from a few different patterned papers from the Pastel Dreams pad. I then pieced the hearts back in, alternating between papers. I used the Simply Friend die for my sentiment. I die cut this a bunch of times and stacked them for a dimensional look. I added an organza ribbon bow to finish my card.

Next up is the All the Hearts die set. I created two shaker cards filling them both with the tiny little hearts you can cut with these dies. These sentiments are from the All the Hearts stamp set and I just white embossed them.

The next two cards I made with the All the Hearts stamp and die sets. I stamped all 4 hearts at the same time, switching between colors, all shades of orange and purple. I added various little gold accents: embossed sentiments, enamel dots, metallic thread and glitter paper.

On the next two cards I used a bunch of different sets: All the Hearts stamp and die sets, Angelique Motifs stamp set and the Angelique Motifs mask stencil. This stencil is a new product, it comes with little die cut pieces which you can use to mask your images. These stencils are thinner than the standard Altenew stencil. However, I didn't do any masking here - I just used the stencil the traditional way and added modelling paste to one of my cards.

Next up, the Stained Glass Window stamp and die sets. This is such a versatile set, you can stamp the flowers many different ways. I went with the stained glass look on one and just good old simple stamping on the other. For one of the cards I used patterned papers from the Pastel Dreams and Verdant Walk paper packs to create the background. For the other one I used a stamp from the Stained Glass Window set - I partly stamped and partly embossed this panel.

Last but not least, some projects with my favorite product of this month, the Hibiscus Garden 3D die set. On my first card, as well as the 12x12 layout, I used papers from the Reflection kit.

I made another card too, I wanted this to be different from my first...So I switched to color card stock and die cut the blooms from 4 different shades of yellow. I dont have a huge card stock stash, so finding 4 different shades of just one color is extremely difficult ha!

Last but not least I made a layout because this ancient photo has been on my desk for years and I actually have hibiscus flowers in my hair. I thought it would be a good fit.  Again, I used papers from the Reflection kit to die cut the flowers and leaves.

I added a couple of embellishments here and there, not many mind you, because I felt like those beautiful flowers alone already added plenty of texture and dimension to my page.

And now the fun part...Giveaways, yay! Read on to find out how you can win! Good Luck!
