Out and About layout inspirations and a Song to Say Goodbye - DT projects for Pinkfresh Studio

Hi there crafty peeps,

I'm stopping by today to share two new layouts with you that I've created for Pinkfresh Studio with the awesome Out and About collection.

With these two layouts I'm also saying goodbye to the Pinkfresh Studio Scrapbook Design Team. It's been an honor...It was a very difficult decision for me and it's very hard to write this blog post too. 

I discovered Pinkfresh a few months after I started scrapbooking in 2015, thanks to Ashley Horton and her use of those awesome rainbow colored wooden chevron pieces which I still have a million packages of (yeah, thanks Ashley!!! Haha!). It was not easy to find PF supplies here back then, in fact  that's how I discovered Scrapbok Werkstatt (which became my favorite scrapbook store and later my second home as a DT member for a few years) on my quest of finding those chevron pieces. Ahhh memories! :( 

Pinkfresh has been one of my favorite companies since then. Together with Basic Grey and Fancy Pants, one of which doesn't do scrapbook collections anymore and the other...I'm not even sure what's happening to the other. If you know me, you know that I am a fan of small, family run businesses, unique, revolutionary designs that break rules, that don't care about trends. Patterns and color combinations I don't find elsewhere. To me Pinkfresh Studio is all that. Pioneers.

OK, I don't believe in coincidences. You know what just started playing on the radio...Nelly Furtado's All Good Things Come to and End. Seriously?! Tears running. But I do believe this was the right decision for me right now.

Sorry guys for the long intro, but I had to say all those things!

Back to my layouts phew! Since most of our photos are travel photos I decided to work mainly with Out and About on both these layouts with a bit of other collections mixed in there (patterned papers). 

I first cut this gorgeous Paige Evans cut file from textured white card stock, then backed it with various patterned papers. Once done, I carefully glued the thin frame on the New Places paper, then stitched it down so that it surely stayed put. I then fussy cut out the whole middle part (I actually really loved the cut file on the rainbow paper but I thought it would end up too busy once I add photo and embellies).

I turned the frame around and added foam tape everywhere, on the back of some of the flowers and leaves too. Then I adhered it on the Scenic Route paper. I thought the street map design fit my photo well.

I layered some tissue paper and a bunch of die cut pieces, tags and labels behind my photo and glued the whole stack down in the middle, tucking a part of my picture behind the cut file.  I added a few embellies, die cuts, epoxy clip, puffy stickers, not too many because I wanted the papers to shine. I'm all about patterned papers, can't help it! I stamped my date and added my journaling, done and done.

On my second layout I used a cut file that will soon be available as a freebie in the Pinkfresh Studio Facebook fan group, so don't forget to check every now and then for new cut files! I backed the flower and leaves with patterned papers and also die cut some layered flowers for additional dimension. I need dimension and texture.

The white cut file was pretty much invisible on the background so I glued the stamp on a yellow card stock and fussy cut around it, leaving a bit of outline. Please excuse my fussy cutting, I don't normally do such a bad job. I also could have done this using my Cameo but it was an afterthought and by then I closed down the Silhouette software and I couldn't have gotten the sizing perfect.

Since I used this stamp cut file I thought it would be great to use the Tickets paper with all the different stamps on it. Or at least a small part of it. The top bit of my background is the Present and Perfect paper from the Everyday Musings collection, the bottom part is the Travel Icons paper from Out and About, turned on its side.

Using foam adhesive I glued down the cut file on my background. I added the 3d flowers and started embellishing. Enamel dots for flower centers, and a few die cuts, puffy stickers around my photo. I stamped my date on a label sticker.

Last but not least my title. I'm obsessed with the Adore Alpha die set (coordinating stamp set also available!), I think it's the best alpha die set out there! It's also two for one since you get outlines and inner pieces as well. So I die cut my title from white card stock once, then from the New Places paper as well. I was debating which version I should go with, rainbow outline with white letters or the other way around. In the end I liked this version better. I added pop dots behind the letters and glued them in place. To finish off my title I used the mini puffy alpha stickers from the Everyday Musings collection. That's about it I think!

So while I was trying to put this post together, several other songs came up (to be fair it took me half a day to write this haha), like Verve's Bittersweet Symphony and Placebo's Song to Say Goodbye. Really?! I mean REALLY? Ugh.

When dies meet scrapbook pages - DT projects for Pinkfresh Studio

I'm back today with two new layouts I've made for Pinkfresh Studio!

If you've been following my work longer, you'll know my obsession with cut files. Well, over the past year it kind of subsided to be honest, I barely use my Cameo anymore. What I use instead every day is my Spellbinders Platinum 6 die cutting machine...I'm not sure what caused this change, since manual die cutting takes much longer? I just can't resist those gorgeous bevelled edges that the Cameo will never give me! So on that note, for today's projects I've used dies instead of cut files! Hope you like them :).

I've used a mixture of the Joyful Day and the Everyday Musings collections on these layouts. For the first one I die cut 5 wreaths from different pink patterned papers, using both dies from the Leafy Wreaths die set. 

One of them I backed with my black and white photo, another two with white card stock. I used one of these for my journaling. I then went through the embellishments and picked out some I thought would fit my color scheme, as well as my circle design. 

I assembled my background first, I attached some of the ombre striped paper to a white card stock, then added a lace trim where the two papers meet because otherwise it looked unfinished. I glued down the die cut circles and decorated them with some chipboards, die cuts, puffy stickers and stickers. 

On my second layout I used my favorite die set from the last release, the Lacey Edgers. I die cut a bunch of strips from patterned paper and arranged them from lightest to darkest from top to bottom on a light pink textured card stock. I then stitched them down to add some interest and texture.

I added some tissue paper behind my photo and glued it all in place. I embellished my page tone on tone, using a variety of puffy stickers, stickers, die cuts and wooden buttons. I also added a cute fabric banner on my photo.

Last but not least I added some white paint splatters and stamped my date.

Pinkfresh Studio May Essentials Release Blog Hop

Welcome to the Pinkfresh Studio May Essentials release blog hop!

You should have arrived here from the amazing Yoonsun's blog, but I'll attach the full blog hop list at the end for your convenience, in case you're lost.

Today, besides the awesome new dies, Pinkfresh is releasing 2 new products too - Jewels and Crystals. Jewels are iridescent and have a flat back so you can glue them down on your projects (like I did on some of my cards today). Crystals on the other hand are not iridescent and don't have a flat back, so they are meant to be used in shaker pockets or any other ways you can think of where you don't have to glue them down. The colors are wonderful and it's pretty handy that you have 12 different ones in a box! I hope you are as excited about these new additions as we are!

As for my projects today...First up, the Basic Label Frames die set! There's three shapes in this pack, I've used the hexagons on my cards.

I die cut a million hexagons using the smallest die and patterned papers from the Everyday Musings collection. I then built two backgrounds with them. It takes awhile but it's very easy to line them up.

I didn't want to cover up much of the background since I spent so much time on it, so I die cut a sentiment using one of my most used products as of late, the Essentials Classic Words die set. I die cut this from pink card stock, plus another 4 times from white and layered them up so the sentiment pops up. To finish off this card I added some ribbon and a button. I've always loved using twine, ribbons and co, but I didn't have these shabby ribbons before, which my DT peer Ivana uses so often! I love the soft touch it adds to her cards, so I've now ordered them in all the colors too haha! Thanks girl for the inspiration!

On my second hexagon card I kept the background simple - I did mix the 12x12 and the 6x6 paper, so if you look closely you'll notice the scale of the pattern is different. I thought this adds a bit of interest without being distracting. I then cut a few white hexagons and stamped a floral spray on them using the gorgeous Embroidered Blossoms stamp set (co-ordinating dies also available!). Another favorite of mine, I think it's my most used Pinkfresh stamp set! I love building colorful patterns and this set is perfect for it!

I die cut several layers for these hexagons so they stand out. To finish off this card I created a sentiment like on my first card, added some twine, button AAAAAAND some of the new Jewels in white!

Next up my favorite die from this release, Lacey Edgers 1! Sooo fab! Love all the different designs! I used all five of them to decorate my cards. So simple but it adds so much texture and interest to your project!

On these two cards I used a mixture of Everyday Musings and Out and About papers. I glued down the die cuts at the bottom, then added a dry embossed panel as well as a strip of patterned paper for contrast at the top. 

A simple die cut sentiment and a few Jewels finish off both these cards! And a bow! My favorite part and I almost forgot! I used a die from the Partial Cut Bouquet and a Bow die set to create these adorable little paper bows. Another set you MUST have! Haha! Sorry, not sorry :D.

More Everyday Musings layout inspirations for Pinkfresh Studio

Hey there lovelies,

I'm sharing two new layouts today that I've created with the stunning Everyday Musings collection from Pinkfresh Studio.

The first one I created as soon as Paige Evans posted this new split image cut file, Flower Borders! I've made several layouts like this before but not in a long time, and it reminded me how much I love it. There are actually a couple of Pinkfresh stamps and dies that are like this, for instance the Lush Greenery stamp and die sets or the Bloom stamp and die sets. I made one of my favorite cards with the Lush Greenery set, you can check here. 

I cut the designs from white, textured card stock and backed them with various patterned papers from the collection, to bring in as many colors as possible. I love colorful things! Once done, I figured out the placement and glued the two cut files down onto the Sweet Escape paper I selected for background. I created my title using the wonderful, wonderful puffy alphas! Originally it would have been Palm trees and sandy feet but I didn't have enough space haha!

Just look at those alpha stickers! Perfection! The design, the colors, the font, all of it!

I then went through all embellieshments and selected some that I thought would fit: mainly labels and stickers. I also fussy cut some flowers and leaves from the Beautiful patterned paper and tuck these in behind the cut file. I cut apart some of the gold puffy flowers and placed them on each side of the cut files. 

To finish off my layout, I added my date and journaling.

I wanted to go with a different color scheme on my second layout and use some of the blue papers which I haven't used yet. I chose a beautiful floral cut file from Handipaper and cut it twice. I wanted to nest my photo in between the two cut files. I backed them with mostly blue and red patterned papers and glued them down on the background, for which I chose the B side of the Beautiful paper. 

What I was the happiest about was that there were various blue and red alphas I could use! I love that color combo! 

I layered some of the pockets behind my photo, just to add a little bit of color. I added a few die cut pieces, stickers and a sweet little layered heart.

I wrote my journaling in one of the big flower centers and stamped my date on a label tucked under my photo. That's about it!

Card Inspirations - DT projects for Pinkfresh Studio

I'm back today with some new cards using products from the January Pinkfresh Studio release. I tried to use sets that I haven't before but well, I wasn't quite successful hehe. There are just some stamps and dies that I can't get enough of! One of these is the Embroidered Blossoms stamp set. I've only used the stamp on today's projects but there are coordinating dies available as well. 

For all of my cards I've used an A2 size top folding card base. I cut the same size patterned paper panel for both of these floral cards, using the gorgeous new Everyday Musings collection. For my first card I cut a slightly smaller piece of white card stock too, which I then stamped my bouquet on. I pulled the colors from the Everyday Musings collection. 

For my sentiment I chose Thank You! from the Scripted Bold Sentiments 1 stamp set. I stamped it in embossing ink and embossed it with dark green embossing powder. I totally messed this up, I got distracted and didn't pour the powder on right away, so when I did minutes later, I didn't get a full coverage. Shoot. But I wasn't going to give up at this point and waste the panel I worked on for what felt like hours haha. So I heated it, then stamped over it again and embossed it again. Of course I didn't stamp in the exact same place, so I don't have sharp edges BUT! I totally love the look because it almost looks embroidered which goes with the flowers! I think, anyway :).

I adhered the panel to the card base and added some crystals to finish off this card.

On my next card I used the Circle Frame with Botanicals die to die cut a window from the patterned paper panel. I stamped some flowers and greenery on a white piece of card stock, once done, I adhered it to the card base, then layered the patterned paper on top. I then die cut 4 or 5 circles from white card stock, using the above mentioned die. I glued these together for a dimensional look and adhered them to the card front.

I embossed a sentiment at the bottom, using the Scripted Bold Sentiments 1 stamp set again. A few matte crystals finish off this card too. 

OK, so on my next two cards I did actually manage to use a set I haven't before: the Sweet Lemonade stamp and coordinating die sets. Oh my Gosh, this set is so adorable! It is tiny, the fruits are so small and cute! Obviously I had to create a one layer card with just stamped images!

I first stamped the sentiment in black, then started stamping lemons, oranges and more. To avoid odd white spaces, I first stamped around the middle and then moved outwards. And that's all there is to it really. It takes a bit of patience maybe, but it's very simple. 

I decided to not add any embellies because I didn't want to cover up any of the stamping.

Last but not least I created a shaker card. I first die cut the bottle from patterned paper which is slightly smaller than A2 size - maybe about 4x5.25". I then placed it on a 4.25x5.5" white card stock and stamped the "drink" in yellow. Too bad I covered it all up because the tiny bubbles in that image are to die for! I stamped and die cut a bunch of fruits and leaves, a straw and I even die cut my sentiment using a basic circle die. I wanted it to be a shaker element too.

I added acetate behind the window, then foam tape for dimension. I cut apart the straw and glued the bottom part directly on the white panel, the top part I glued onto the green patterned paper. I placed some sequins, seed beads, the die cut fruits and sentiment in the middle and adhered the panel down. Most of my beads and sequins are probably stuck on the side of the foam tape because there's hardly any visible haha. Next time I'll just glue some of them down so they stay put.

I added a few sequins, more fruits and some twine around the neck of the bottle. Done!

Everyday Musings layout inspirations for Pinkfresh Studio

I'm stopping by today to share my first layouts with the gorgeous, brand new Everyday Musings collection! This collection should be arriving to your favorite stores any minute now, so be sure to check it out! I've said this many times before, but Pinkfresh Studio collections are always so much more pretty in person than online! The quality of the papers is incredible, I love thick patterned papers!

Some of you might have already seen these layouts if you were at Creative World in Frankfurt this past weekend. I've made two layouts with each new collection, I honestly can't pick a favorite from the 3, they are all awesome. And by that I mean the new collections obviously ha!

I decided to go with layered hearts on my first layout because I wanted to use many different patterned papers but had no time for die cutting (and backing the die cut with patterned papers). This time however, I layered each heart the same way. Normally I mix the papers so different colors and patterns are on top, but going with the same design saved me a lot of time.

Once all my hearts were die cut (of course you can totally cut these out with scissors), I layered them up and stitched through the middle.

For background I chose a white paper with colorful dots and sentiments - this design might look familiar to you, it was there in the Holiday Vibes collection too, but of course in a different color combo and with different sentiments.

I then arranged my photo and the hearts roughly and decided to add one of the cute pockets off to the right. I was planning to write some journaling on a tag and put it in this pocket but then I changed my mind and put my title there. This is a die cut from the ephemera pack and I used some pop dots to add dimension to it.

I went through the ephemera pack and pulled out all floral die cuts. I tucked these under the bigger hearts before adhering all of them down. I also added a few different hearts, puffy stickers and layered stickers. Aren't those so cute?! A couple of puffy sentiment stickers and a label with date finish off this layout.

I wanted to keep all layouts simple and quick for lack of time so on my next one I went with the awesome chipboard frames from the collection. There's a whole pack of them, various colors and sizes, so cool! 

For my background I chose one of my favorite papers from this collection, it's pink (technically maybe a light mauve?) with geometric pattern. It's very pretty in person! I then selected a bunch of frames and decided to back them with patterned papers so that more of the collection is represented. I also used some tags and die cuts to back a few frames. 

I adhered a frame on top of our photo as well, it says Together on it, so I thought that was a great fit. I then arranged the frames and glued them down. I decorated them with bits of die cuts, puffy stickers, layered heart stickers ad sentiment stickers. 

Look at these stunning puffy alpha stickers! These are probably my most favorite Pinkfresh Studio alpha stickers of all time! I wanted to make a colorful title, but all letters I needed were pretty much the same color. To avoid this, I mixed upper and lower case letters! I added my journaling, date and done!

I hope you are as excited about this collection as I am because it truly is gorgeous and so unique! Well, that's Pinkfresh Studio for you!
