Endless Summer - DT layout for Paige Evans

Hello crafty friends,

I'm stopping by today to share a new layout with you that I've created for the Paige Evans Design Team!

As you know, Paige's new collection, Go the Scenic Route, was released recently, so I'll be using this wonderful new collection! It's perfect because we just got back from holiday, so I have a million new travel themed (and other) photos!

When I saw this orange/pink paper, I immediately thought of the sunsets at the beach that we often had to go see because they were just too beautiful. Unfortunately, my Selphy doesn't print vivid colors (like not even close to the real colors) but I think this photo still fits that background paper just fine. I generally stay away from scrapping photos like this because normally I don't find collections/papers that go well with them. I'm glad it worked out this time!

I cut the Endless Summer cut file (Design ID: 327560) from white card stock, then backed the waves with different blue tones of a single paper, plus I added a dark blue patterned paper at the bottom, behind the letters. I backed the sun with an orange patterned paper but didn't back the rays because I wanted the background to shine through.

I then fussy cut out all the letters from a variety of pink/red patterned papers, glued them on the white fall out pieces from the original cut file to make them hold up better and added them back into place using foam adhesive.

I chose a few embellies to decorate my page: chipboards and die cuts. Aaaaaaand something super cool! My friend Sandra posted a few buttons on Instagram that she made with the new We R Memory Keepers Button Press that I'm dying to have - and one of them was using Paige's paper from this collection. So, I asked her if I could have some of those buttons and in 2 days they were in my mailbox wooohooo. At that point I had several layouts ready, so I checked which one I could use the button for. I thought the middle of this large chipboard flower was the perfect spot for it :)

I wrote my journaling using a white gel pen, then I splattered some white acrylic paint all over my page (obviously covering my photo with a tissue paper).

It's a very simple page but I think the stunning background paper adds so much to it! What do you guys think?

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Have an awesome day!

Spellbinders Jane Davenport Artomology collection - Part 1

Hello there crafty friends,

I'm super excited to join Spellbinders for another 3 blog post series - this time creating with a very special and unique Exclusive Collection, Artomology, by the one and only Jane Davenport! Now if you know my work, you know that I actually rarely do mixed media, but I was super intrigued by the metal dies because they are so different from what I normally use! A totally different style for me, that is fantastic for art journals, but I was up for the challenge to come up with projects that are still my style. I hope you'll like them! I personally can't wait to see what all the other guest designer have come up with!

Today I'm sharing these two cards:

Before I get into the details on the cards...would you check out those amazing dies?! They are TEAL!!! Because, you know, the color of a die is very important, haha! Yes, I am that shallow! I squeeled when I first unpacked them. There is also an Exclusive Jane Davenport die cutting machine (it's the Platinum 6 in Jane's signature design), and it's got PINK plates! I die! (No pun intented). The machine is super pretty and works like a charm! Check it out here!

OK, so about the cards. I wanted to work with a paper collection I haven't used yet, so I picked out the summery On Our Way collection from Fancy Pants Designs. For my first card I die cut both flowers from the Sea Flower Etched Dies pack from white card stock. I backed them with a rainbow stripe patterned paper. I then created an A2 size top folding card base and glued a piece of patterned paper in the same size on the front. I also added 2 different strips of papers at the bottom. For my sentiment I chose a die cut from the same Fancy Pants collection and layered it on top, using foam adhesive. A super simple card for you!

For my second card I chose to work with the Mertail and the Mermaid for Each Other Etched dies. This card is even quicker than the first one! I made an A2 size top folding card base. Then I added some shimmery blue watercolor to an A2 size white card stock (not even watercolor paper). While it was drying, I die cut the mermaid tail from a rainbow plaid patterned paper and the waves from dark blue patterned paper. I assembled the card, glued the panel on the card base, then glued down the waves and the mermaid tail. I found this destination sign in the Fancy Pants ephemera pack and thought it would be perfect for this card. It reminds me of the signs we saw in Venice and other parts of Italy when we were sailing. I added this using foam adhesive.

That's all from me for now! I'll be back soon with more projects, I hope you'll check them out!

Thank you for stopping by today! I wish you a lovely day!

Take Me Away cards - DT project for Paige Evans + Silhouette

Hey there crafty peeps,

I'm stopping by to share my latest cards I've made for the Paige Evans + Silhouette Design Team!

The collection I chose for today's projects is the super gorgeous Take Me Away from a couple of years ago. Unfortunately I don't have a whole lot of this line left, mainly because back when it came out I didn't make a lot of feminine pages, no cards at all either. So I didn't buy all of it, which of course I regret now terribly! So I was ecstatic when I found a 6x6 paper pad in my stash! I didn't even remember I had it!

I was drawn to the navy floral paper, I haven't used it before. I have no idea why I didn't buy the 12x12 paper considering navy has always been one of my favorite colors!

Both my cards are mounted on an A2 size top folding card base. For the first one I cut a strip of the navy paper and another one with tiny bows, the two together measure 4.25x5.5". I cut the Poppies (Design ID #271996) cut file from a coral patterned paper.

I then backed the flowers with a lighter shade of coral patterned paper. For the leaves I used the same navy paper as before. I adhered the flowers to the card front using foam adhesive. I added a cute suede bow, a couple of small fussy cut flowers and a sentiment that also came from the 6x6 pad.

On my next card I used this adorable floral paper as background. It's very busy so I wanted to keep the rest of the design fairly simple. I cut the Flower Picture Frame (Design ID #267057) cut file from another piece of coral patterned paper and I backed the flowers with a darker shade this time and the leaves with a lighter shade. Using liquid glue, I adhered the frame to my card front.

I added some tangled gold thread and a chipboard flower to the bottom left and an embroidery hoop with a bow to the top right. This hoop serves as my sentiment. To finish off this card I added some gold ink splatters.

That's it! I hope you like today's projects!

Thanks for stopping by! I wish you a wonderful day!
